TopoCompetition: discover the 3D landscape of your favorite cell on the TopoChip
Deadline: 31 January 2022 The TopoChip is a high-throughput screening platform designed to study the effect of bioactive surface topographies on cellular response.
More information and literature references about the platform can be found on our website jandeboerlab.com. With TopoChip technology, we and others discovered topographies that help sustain hepatocyte function, prevent bacterial attachment, stimulate IPSC colony formation, and control macrophage maturation, to name a few. Are you curious to learn what topography does to your favorite cell?

In the TopoCompetition, we offer you the opportunity to discover the power of the TopoChip. As the winner of the competition, you will work together with us, the BioInterface Science (BiS) group, to perform a TopoChip screen on your selected cell type.
You will perform your assay of choice on TopoChips provided by us. This can either be done at your lab or you can perform the assay in our lab at Eindhoven University of Technology, The Netherlands. Next, BiS researchers will perform image acquisition and data analysis. Acquired images will be processed with an in-house developed image analysis pipeline to obtain quantitative data. By applying machine learning algorithms, we will discover the relation between surface design and your cell’s response.
To enter the competition, you will submit a 1 A4 research proposal via email which should includee the hypothesis you want to test, as well as a motivation of the impact of the screen on your research. The submission deadline is 31 January 2022. For more information and submission, please contact
